Spring 2027 residencies: which ones are you applying to, and when do they close?
Discussion starterThe question
Winter and spring cohort applications started opening in October, and a few on allnurses already have threads counting down to the close date.
If you're applying, list the programs and the dates you have: when the window opens, when it closes, and when they want your license in hand. Some windows are only a week long, so one list beats twenty tabs.
And if you got in last cycle, how soon after the close did you hear?
The conversation
1 replyThe date that trips people up is not the application close. It's the license deadline. Many spring programs want an active RN license weeks before the cohort starts, and a few check it before they interview you.
Work backwards from that date. If you haven't tested yet, leave room for a retake: NCSBN makes you wait 45 days between attempts, so a test date in the last month before the deadline leaves no second chance.
What would you tell them?
