About this role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our school community in a float position. The School RN plays a vital role in supporting student health, promoting wellness, and ensuring a safe learning environment across multiple school sites. This position involves working closely with students, staff, and families to address healthcare needs and foster overall well-being.

This role includes significant field trip coverage, along with consistent weekly assignments of approximately 2-3 days (or more as needed). The RN will provide coverage across various schools within the district, with occasional support at different grade levels as required.

  • Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, medication administration, and emergency response
  • Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic conditions
  • Monitor immunization compliance and maintain accurate health records
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student health needs
  • Conduct health screenings and promote preventive care and wellness education
  • Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate with external healthcare providers when needed
  • Ensure compliance with state and school health regulations and policies

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Current CPR and First Aid certification

Previous experience in pediatrics, school nursing, or community health is a plus

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions

Compassionate, organized, and committed to student well-being
