About this role
Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Position
As a NP/PA you will be responsible for providing urgent and non-urgent medical care for patients age birth to 21 years old. This care will be provided in accordance with the general policies and standards of practice as established by Pediatric Urgent Care. Must deliver high quality healthcare to a multicultural patient population. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Obtain accurate and concise HPIs and physical exams, provide documentation
- Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and occasionally chronic illnesses
- Perform sports physicals with coinciding documentation
- Provide health promotion, disease prevention, and health education
- Conduct, supervise, and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, including COVID 19 testing
- Prescribe pharmacological agents and non-pharmacologic therapies
- Perform various procedures including wound repairs, x-rays, and abscess drainage
- Arrange for hospital transfers and complete associated documentation
- Perform some administrative duties
- Make referrals to outside specialties
Requirements
- Must have previous experience in pediatrics
- Must have a Master’s degree from an accredited University and be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner with the State of Texas OR be licensed as a Physician Assistant through the Texas Medical Board
- Must maintain NP or PA license in good standing at all times
- Must maintain current BLS and PALS certification
- Extensive knowledge of acute conditions and treatments
- Basic knowledge of splinting
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Familiarity with electronic medical health care record systems
- Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
- Minimum requirement of 1 summer holiday and 1 winter holiday
- Must be willing to complete a limited medical radiological technician (LMRT) program, take x-rays and keep up this certification while employed at Just 4 Kids.
- Will be exposed to multiple differed communicable diseases including COVID during each shift. Proper PPE will be provided.
- Must be willing to float between all locations if necessary.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN Pay: $60.00 - $75.00 per hour
