Job Purpose
- The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients. This role involves working with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of comprehensive behavioral health services. The LPN will utilize their expertise to support patient care plans, administer medications, and monitor patient progress in a compassionate and professional manner.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the nursing supervisor or physician.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized patient care plans.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with regulatory standards.
- Respond to emergency situations promptly and effectively.
Required
Education
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing meeting minimum standards of the Florida State Board of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Required
Experience
- At least 6 years of experience working as a Licensed Practical Nurse, preferably in a behavioral health setting.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of mental health disorders and treatment protocols.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and reporting.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care delivery.
