Position

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified CNA Instructor to join our nursing education team. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background and a passion for teaching and mentoring future Certified Nursing Assistants. The CNA Instructor is responsible for delivering curriculum, guiding students through clinical practice, and ensuring compliance with state and federal training standards.

Essential Duties and

Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom and clinical instruction in accordance with state-approved CNA training curriculum.
  • Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials that are engaging and educational.
  • Supervise and evaluate students during clinical rotations in long-term care facilities or other approved clinical sites.
  • Maintain accurate student attendance, performance, and clinical evaluation records.
  • Provide individualized instruction and remediation when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with California Department of Public Health (CDPH) regulations for CNA programs.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and facility partners to support student learning.
  • Participate in program evaluations and updates as needed.

Minimum

Qualifications

  • Active California RN or LVN License (Required).
  • Two (2) years of verifiable nursing experience , with:
  • At least one (1) year providing care to chronically ill or elderly patients in one of the following settings:
  • Acute care hospital
  • Skilled nursing facility
  • Intermediate care facility
  • Home care
  • Hospice care
  • Other long-term care facility
  • AND one (1) of the following:
  • One (1) year of experience planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing educational programs; OR
  • Twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing educational programs completed within six (6) months of hire (must provide certificate or transcript). Continuing education must be approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing or offered by an accredited institution.
