About this role
As our Emergency Department Nurse Shift Manager, you will help lead and coordinate our exceptional nursing team so they can deliver timely, compassionate, and life-saving care to patients in critical situations. Every day you will oversee patient flow, allocate resources efficiently, manage staffing assignments, and address any immediate clinical or operational challenges that arise. You will be expected to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, mentor and supervise nursing staff, ensure adherence to protocols and safety standards, and act as a crucial point of contact for interdepartmental communication.
To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical expertise in emergency nursing, demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills, exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to remain calm and decisive under pressure. Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift. Assigns patients to available nursing staff, taking into consideration the patient's condition and the employee's skill level.
Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary. Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them.
Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts. Required Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) and more.
