Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the emergency department for patients ranging from newborns to geriatrics (obstetrics not included).
- Assess, triage, and initiate appropriate interventions; monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition.
- Administer medications, start IVs, initiate labs and imaging as ordered, and assist with procedures as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other members of the care team; coordinate patient flow and disposition.
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record; ensure safety, infection control, and continuity of care.
- May be asked to float to nearby regional facilities within the same system to support staffing needs.
Requirements
- Active NH RN license or Compact state license required at time of submission.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required.
- Nursys license verification for all active RN licenses.
- Two recent ER charge/manager RN references.
- EMR experience preferred (Cerner experience is a plus; not required).
- RTO (requested time off) must be included at time of submission.
- Ability to work in a high-volume ER setting with newborn to geriatric patients; obstetrics not included.
