Registered Nurse D.O.N ( Department of Nursing)

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Registered Nurse Director of Nursing (D. O. N) to lead our Department of Nursing with enthusiasm and expertise. Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership to the nursing staff, promoting professional development and maintaining high morale.

• Oversee daily nursing operations across multiple departments, ensuring seamless coordination and efficient workflow.

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards including HIPAA, NCQA standards, and state and federal laws such as Workers' Compensation Law.

• Develop and implement policies and procedures aligned with best practices in critical care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, and specialty areas like ophthalmology or dialysis.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans, discharge planning, and case management strategies.

• Monitor quality metrics related to patient safety, infection control, medication administration, and documentation accuracy within EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Epic.

• Support staff in managing complex cases involving trauma medicine, ICU or PICU experience, long-term care residents, or individuals with developmental disabilities.

• Lead initiatives for staff training on aseptic techniques, IV infusion procedures, suturing skills, and advanced clinical interventions such as ventilator management or ostomy care.

Requirements

• Valid RN license with current registration in the state of practice.

• Proven leadership experience as a Director of Nursing or similar senior nursing role within a hospital or healthcare facility.

• Extensive knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices along with specialized experience in critical care (ICU), emergency medicine, trauma centers (Level I & II), or neonatal intensive care (NICU).

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic, Cerner, or similar EMR/EHR platforms.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for procedures, and laboratory/test result interpretation.

• Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with disabilities or in hospice & palliative care settings.

• Ability to manage complex cases involving pain management, infectious disease care, dialysis treatments, catheterization procedures, telemetry monitoring, and post-acute care transitions.

• Excellent communication skills coupled with critical thinking abilities to lead emergency responses and triage effectively.
