Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job

• Setting: Med Surg unit in a hospital

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for adult Med Surg patients, including post-surgical care (e.g., abdominal pain, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fractures, back pain, bariatric considerations)
• Regularly assess patient condition, administer medications, monitor vital signs, manage IV pumps, and care for N/G and feeding tubes
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and document care in EPIC EMR; communicate changes in patient status promptly
• Participate in unit floatation as needed and adhere to patient safety and infection control protocols
• Prepare and participate in shift handoffs; educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in New York (Nursys verification)
• Current AHA BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience; travel experience required
• EPIC EMR experience
• Ability to work the night shift on a 2x3 schedule
• RTO must be included at submission; local candidates within 75 miles eligible for local rate
