Responsibilities
- Conduct individualized patient assessments and document findings; notify the Charge Nurse or MD of abnormal findings.
- Develop an individualized plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team; perform treatments as ordered.
- Administer medications and perform common nursing procedures (e.g., EKGs, blood draws, IV starts) with accuracy; maintain organized, clean work spaces; ensure patient hydration.
- Provide patient and family education; document responses to nursing interventions and progress toward goals; protect patient confidentiality.
- Respond to emergencies per facility protocols; coordinate timely transfers and procedures; communicate with physicians, families, and other departments as needed.
Requirements
- California license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Good physical health and stamina; ability to walk, bend, lift; dexterity for patient care
- Proficient English communication (verbal and written)
- Dependable with a history of good attendance; able to respond effectively in emergency situations
- Interest in continuing education and participation in in-service training
