- Provide direct supervision of nursing staff during assigned shifts, ensuring adherence to care plans and hospital protocols
- Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation with precision and attention to detail
- Oversee medication administration, IV infusions, wound suturing, and aseptic techniques to maintain safety standards
- Facilitate effective communication among interdisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and support staff
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records using EMR systems such as Cerner or Epic
- Manage triage processes for incoming patients, prioritizing urgent needs in emergency or acute care situations
- Support discharge planning, patient education, and coordination with home care or long-term care facilities
*Experience*
- Proven experience in acute care settings such as ICU, Emergency Room, or Level I Trauma Center preferred
- Strong background in medical-surgical nursing with familiarity in cardiology procedures like cardiac catheterization and trauma medicine
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, and individuals with developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding, laboratory procedures, specimen collection/processing, and diagnostic evaluation techniques
- Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising nursing teams during demanding shifts while maintaining high standards of patient care
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is highly desirable
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications like ACLS or PALS are advantageous
