We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide one-on-one skilled nursing care for a medically complex pediatric patient in the home setting. This role is ideal for a nurse confident working independently and experienced managing multi-system, immune-mediated care needs in a home environment.
Patient
Overview
- 10-year-old male with complex, multi-system medical needs
- Conditions requiring monitoring include autoimmune and neurological disorders, along with chronic pain
- Followed by a multidisciplinary specialist team including Immunology, Neurology, Rheumatology, and Pulmonology
- Family is actively engaged in the patient's care
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments and ongoing monitoring each visit
- Monitor respiratory status; provide nebulizer treatments and recognize signs of respiratory muscle weakness or distress
- Administer medications and injections per physician orders; support IVIG infusion care
- Monitor for swallowing difficulty/aspiration risk during meals; supervise feeding as needed
- Observe and document neurological changes during flares (fatigue, speech difficulty, cognitive slowing)
- Assist with mobility and comfort measures during pain/inflammatory flares
- Communicate effectively with family and coordinate with the multidisciplinary care team
Requirements
- Active Georgia RN license in good standing
- Pediatric or home health experience strongly preferred
- Experience with autoimmune, neuromuscular, or medically complex patients strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently and confidently in a home environment
- Reliable transportation
- Current CPR/BLS certification
