Summary
The Armada Recovery team is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our nightshift team at our Akron, Ohio location. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing direct nursing care to patients undergoing detoxification. Your exceptional clinical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to patient safety will help ensure a smooth and successful recovery experience for our patients.
Key
Responsibilities
Patient Care & Monitoring
- Monitor patients for withdrawal symptoms using approved tools (e.g., CIWA, COWS)
- Perform routine and PRN vital signs and clinical assessments
- Identify changes in patient condition and intervene appropriately
- Ensure patient safety, including fall prevention and crisis response
Medication Administration
- Administer medications as ordered and per detox protocols
- Monitor medication effectiveness and side effects
- Maintain accurate medication documentation and counts
- Follow all controlled substance handling and storage procedures
Clinical Communication
- Communicate significant clinical changes to the on-call provider per escalation protocols
- Participate in shift handoff reports and clinical updates
- Collaborate with support staff to maintain a calm, structured overnight environment
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete timely, accurate nursing documentation in the EMR
- Ensure charts meet regulatory, accreditation, and facility standards
- Adhere to all state, federal, and facility policies governing detox services
- Safety & Facility
Responsibilities
- Respond to overnight incidents, emergencies, or patient needs
- Support infection control and safety protocols
- Maintain professional conduct and patient confidentiality at all times
Schedule
Weekends, holidays, and rotating schedules as required
Qualifications
Required
- Active Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours
- Strong assessment and clinical judgment skills
Preferred
- Experience in detox, addiction medicine, behavioral health, or acute care
- Familiarity with CIWA, COWS, and withdrawal management
- Experience working in residential or medical detox settings
