About this role

Registered Nurses 1 give professional nursing care and treatment in the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Facility. Registered Nurses evaluate health needs of juveniles and refer, as indicated by policy and procedure, to the appropriate health provider, demonstrate knowledge in advanced first aid and emergency care, and have knowledge in all policies and procedures pertaining to Medical and Psychiatric treatment of juveniles detained in the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Facility. Registered Nurses monitor and maintain the medical and mental health treatment of juveniles, maintain supplies and equipment and ensure the juveniles are in a clean and safe environment and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • RN
  • Michigan RN license
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current Registered Nurse license to practice in the State of Michigan
  • BLS/CPR Certification
  • One year of full-time paid experience as a registered nurse within the past five years in medical/surgical, corrections, or behavioral health (preferred)
  • MDHHS clearance and Child Protective Services clearance
  • Must be able to work full time, 3:00pm-11:00pm shift, every other weekend, overtime may be required
