About this role
One Full-time, 10 month nurse, 6.5 hours/day, nurse at Tinicum Elementary School available starting as soon as possible. Candidate must have a current PA Registered Nurse License or a Licensed Practical Nurse, in addition to a valid BLS certification and CPR/AED and First Aid certifications. Primary responsibilities include: Work with students, parents and physicians/dentists to get required medical and dental examinations done; Maintain comprehensive health records, medical emergency forms and records of school nursing services for the treatment of each student; Provide direct services to students, using the nursing process to provide care to the school community in accordance with current medical practice and nursing standards, relevant statutes, and regulation; Assist the Certified School Nurse in collecting data to help plan and evaluate the school health program; Assist the Certified School Nurse in preparing required reports for the school district; PA Dept. of Health, Div. of School Health; and PA Dept. of Education; Administer medications and perform procedures according to physician orders and school district policies and procedures; Ensure physician orders for individual student medications and/or treatments comply with requirements for administration; and carry out 504 Service Agreements, individualized health care plans and emergency care plans for students with special health care needs.

Candidates must learn and implement technology skills required to use district software, including SNAP, and be willing to travel to the schools within the District, as needed.
This is a support staff contracted position which includes all health benefits as per the collective bargaining agreement. Hourly rate: $26.90/hour after a successful probationary period as per contract.
