Job Purpose
The Imaging RN assists the Imaging Center staff in providing patient care by answering questions and concerns about procedures, monitoring patient vitals, and administering medications and intravenous injections.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist patients and caregivers with questions or concerns about procedures.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, as well as document and adjust treatment as necessary.
- Administer and oversee intravenous injections.
- Administer required medications.
- Prepare patients for procedure.
- Provide anesthetic assistance when patients require sedation for procedure.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must have strong attention to detail.
- Must be able to follow instructions well.
- Must have excellent bedside manner.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Alabama License
- BLS certification required
- At least (1) year experience in diagnostic imaging nurse role
Working conditions
This position works in the Imaging Center of a busy outpatient oncology/hematology clinic. Direct patient contact is required.
Physical requirements
This position requires that the employee be able to stand on their feet for up to (10) hours a day. This position also requires the ability to lift, move, and position patients who are very ill.

This position is not a supervisory position.
