General Job Description
Perform nursing duties in the support of patient care within the department necessary for the diagnosis and subsequent treatment of inpatients and/or outpatients undergoing diagnostic and invasive procedures.
Delivers basic to advanced nursing care to patients in Interventional Radiology (IR), Cardiology, Nuclear Medicine, Cardiac Cath Lab, and EP Lab. Administers medications, provides conscious sedation, and intra-procedural monitoring of patients status while undergoing procedures in IR, non-invasive Cardiology and Nuclear Medicine, Cath Lab, and EP Lab.
Actively involved with assessment, planning, care, and education of patients and staff who undergo diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures within the department; willing to learn and/or expand skills in the insertion and management of advanced vascular access. Services are provided in accordance with industry standards, departmental-protocols, and hospital policies and procedures.
Experience
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required, bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
- Six months of clinical experience in one of the following areas is required, preferably in CCU, ED, Adult Critical Care, or Telemetry. Knowledge and
Skills
- Experience Preferred in EPIC and MEDITECH software systems. Certifications/Licenses
: • Licensed Professional Nurse by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of employment.
