Details and PreOp RN role in an acute care surgery center Unit consists of PACU Phase 1 and Phase 2 with a total of 12 beds, typically staffed with 9-10 RNs during open hours Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:2 in Phase 1 and 1:3 in Phase 2 Cases include ortho, ENT, septoplasty, TNA, fractures, sports medicine, shoulder/knee scopes, and spinal surgeries for both adult and pediatric patients Responsibilities include PACU discharge and patient education, stocking, room cleaning, crash cart checks, and general department duties PreOp duties include patient intake, vital signs, IV starts, OR prep, and post-operative calls EMR used is SIS Schedule is Monday through Friday with 10 or
