Summary
The essential function of this position is to manage the day to day operations of the long term care unit for Stella Maris. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years prior LTC experience and proven leadership skills. This position will report to the VP of Nursing and work as part of the Nursing Management team.
Essential functions
- Coordinates all nursing care provided to residents on a twenty four basis; establishes care plans, coordinates and conducts resident/family meetings, ensures ongoing communication with medical practitioners and coordinates/conducts regulatory required assessments.
- Performs effective professional employee management for a designated group of staff ensuring that facility and departmental protocols are adhered to consistently.
- Contributes to the efficient operation of the department by assuming flexible hours as needed, providing on call coverage on a rotational basis, consistently meeting administrative deadlines and functioning as the nursing supervisor when required.
- Conducts thorough and complete investigations into risk management concerns, clinical concerns, staff issues and family concerns. Reports timely and thoroughly to AVP.
- To coordinate, plan, direct and supervise Nursing Care on a 24 hours basis. To execute efficient operation of the Nursing Unit involving utilization of nursing staff and other disciplines necessary to provide a safe, comfortable and supportive environment.

- Thorough understanding of long term care regulations
- Experience coordinating care and knowing residents
- Sub-Acute/ Rehab experience, highly preferred
- Minimum 3 years of progressive management experience.
Min: USD $43.72/Hr. Max: USD $74.70/Hr. Salary Information: Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
