About this role
The Registered Nurse Cardiac - Vascular provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. The RN cardio-vascular nurse possesses advanced knowledge and skill in cardiac nursing. Demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipation and planning for the care of the patient.
Participates as part of an interdisciplinary care team in the treatment of cardiac-vascular conditions such as heart failure, heart valve disorders, high blood pressure, vascular disorders, heart attack and arrythmia. Performs and interprets various cardiac and vascular lab tests. Works closely with cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, electrophysiologists, and other physicians.
Participates in clinical trials and clinical research programs. Performs diagnostic tests such as ECG's, EKG's. Initiates Holter and Event monitors.
Educates patients on cardiovascular diseases. Administers medications in accordance with physician orders.

- Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing
- Minimum of three years Cardiac RN experience in an acute care or cardiology clinic setting
- BLS required upon hire
- ACLS required within 60 days of hire
- Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations
- Cardiac Medicine Certification (CMC) through AACN preferred
