About the Role
The ADON assists the DON in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-
to-day functions of the nursing department, in accordance with company policy and all appropriate regulations. This position is also ensuring that an effective infection control, and wound care programs are maintained at all times.
Key
Responsibilities
- Inform nursing service personnel of new admissions, their expected time of arrival, room assignment, etc.
- Ensure that direct nursing care be provided by a licensed nurse, a certified nursing assistant, and/or a nurse aide trainee qualified to perform the procedure.
- Schedule daily rounds to observe residents and to determine if nursing needs are being met. Make rounds with physicians as necessary.
- Identifies, manages, and treats specific skin conditions, such as pressure injuries, diabetic, venous, or arterial ulcers, and traumatic or complicated wounds.
- Provide wound care on assigned residents in accordance with physician orders, following manufacturer recommendations and appropriate techniques.
- Complete weekly wound rounds with wound care provider.
- Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of the infection control program for monitoring communicable and/or infectious diseases among the residents and personnel. Ensure that the facility is in compliance with current CDC, OSHA, and local regulations concerning infection control or standard/universal precautions.
- Develop and implement a practical system of detecting, evaluating, recording, and reporting infections that originate with facility personnel.
- Assist in developing methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care.
