This is a Community Health Registered Nurse position that provides professional nursing services within the immunization center under the direct supervision of a Registered Nursing Consultant. This Position Will Be Responsible For Administering vaccines to children and adults, tuberculin skin tests and rabies vaccines to clients and in the community. This position provides education related to immunization to internal and external customers. Assist with immunization training to FDOH-Duval employees, private providers and students to become knowledgeable on immunization, FLSHOTS, updates, guidelines and procedures. Assess patient immunization records. Maintain, monitor and ensure computer data is entered into FLSHOTS and HMS accurately. Maintain storage, handling and ordering of vaccines inventory. Monitoring of immunization supplies and refrigerators ensuring that the inventory is accurate and properly stored to prevent waste and spoilage. Accurately maintaining inventory and monitoring vaccines and medical supplies/equipment. Works in collaboration with internal and external partners. Ensures adherence to nursing protocol and polices, as well as immunization policies and procedures. Attends staff meetings, in-services, seminars and training for self-improvement to increase competency and retention of skills. Records accurately all nursing care provided. Ensures timely completion of all mandatory training. Ensures accurate and timely submission of employees leave and attendance records, employee activity records (EAR”s), and travel vouchers. Travel in privately owned vehicles in relation to above duties. A valid Forida Driver’s License is required when travel is necessary. As needed, will be required to cover clinics outside of your normal work area when staffing shortages are recognized which may include traveling to another clinic location. Perform other duties as assigned Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Basic computer skills, Windows, Outlook, Internet Explorer. Knowledge of basic medical terminology, pharmaceutical terminology & calculations. Knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and techniques Skill in using medical instruments or testing equipment in providing nursing care Knowledge of nursing and public health principles, practices, and techniques. Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of community resources. Knowledge of HIPAA Public relations skills Ability to keep accurate records Ability to interview patients and obtain a complete medical history Ability to keep accurate records, follow instructions, communicate effectively. Ability to administer prescribed medications. Ability to provide direct patient care and treatment Ability to work with patients having a variety of physical problems. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
