About this role

Baylor Scott & White Health Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse to join our Ortho Trauma Progressive Care Unit (5 South). The #1 city in the nation for Nursing opportunities and advancement. Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.

Schedule

Full Time - 36 hours per week - Days 7am-7pm

Location: Temple, TX – 5th Floor (5N)

Unit Summary

This is a 35-bed monitored nursing unit that provides the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients ranging from adults to Geriatrics. The conditions that are within the scope of service include the following but are not limited to:

  • Post ICU trauma patients (serious traumatic injury to 2 or more body systems)
  • Complex Plastic reconstructive surgeries (including reconstructive flaps and graft sites, post cancer reconstruction, and trauma related reconstruction)
  • Complex ENT patients including free muscle flaps and neck dissections.
  • Complex ENT reconstructive tracheostomies and laryngectomies
  • Traumatic Complex Fractures and musculoskeletal wounds
  • Elective Joint Replacements – Rapid Recovery Program
  • Sports Injuries
  • Spinal Deformities
  • Complicated Pelvic, Hip, and compression Fractures
  • Skeletal Malformations and Abnormalities
  • Amputations and Prosthesis
  • Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, General Surgery
  • Medical/Surgical patients including those requiring Telemetry

Requirements of the Ideal Candidate

  • Graduate of RN School of Nursing
  • ADN required
  • Active RN License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Require or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer

Qualifications
