About this role

Provides professional nursing care for a lithotripsy service. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the care rendered to patients. Collaborates with the physician and clinical staff to coordinate care. Provides education to patients and family members. Assures the quality of care to ensure exceptional patient outcomes. The Lithotripsy RN will be responsible for providing high-quality pre-operative care, procedural sedation, and post-operative care during extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) procedures.

Certifications

BLSACLSPALS

Requirements

Current RN license by state of North Carolina or a nurse compact participating state
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current RN license by state of North Carolina or a nurse compact participating state
Minimum of one year experience in ambulatory surgery or critical care
Sedation experience preferred but not required
Current BLS, PALS, and ACLS certification preferred
Proficient with electronic health records preferred
Knowledge of urology patient care desired but not required
Excellent critical thinking skills
