The Endoscopy unit provides comprehensive care to more than 7,000 patients annually. Its mission is to deliver high-quality, compassionate inpatient and outpatient endoscopic care, develop and evaluate new endoscopic technologies and procedures, and serve as a primary training site for gastroenterology fellows and surgical residents. The facility performs a full range of routine and advanced GI services. Position is M-F and typically consists of 2 10-hour and 2 8-hour shifts weekly but can vary. The Clinical Nurse II/III job demonstrates mastery of clinical skills and applies this knowledge to a specific patient population. Assists the health care team with prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. Safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions. Provides direction, education, and assumes leadership responsibilities at the unit level.
Requirements
Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state
AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent
Clin II: 12 to 24 months RN experience
Clin III: 3 years of clinical experience
Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program
Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred (or must enroll in RN to BSN program within 2 years and complete within 5 years)
Ability to lift 20-50 lbs
