about the national average

Las Vegas area index 100.2, where 100 is the national average.

Las Vegas hands nurses a rare Western bargain: costs sit essentially at the national average, yet there's no state income tax—and more house and yard per dollar than other major Western cities. Rent around $1,737 places you in Centennial Hills or Henderson's Green Valley Ranch; $430,650 buys into Summerlin's Peaks.
