Responsibilities

  • Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients in the labor and delivery setting, following the nursing process and established standards of care.
  • Monitor and reassess patients, administer medications as ordered, and document care accurately; respond promptly to changes in patient status.
  • Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; delegate tasks and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including obstetrics, anesthesia, neonatal, and other services.
  • Utilize critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent discretion to plan and implement patient care plans; promote patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families about labor, delivery, postpartum care, and discharge planning; provide supportive care and resource guidance as needed.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in California (in good standing)
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; labor and delivery or perinatal experience preferred
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN)
  • Ability to work 12-hour day shifts; willingness to participate in a travel assignment
  • BLS certification (required)
