EMS Operations Supervisor | Night Shift

In this dynamic role, you'll combine hands-on EMS experience with operational supervisor responsibilities, supporting daily ambulance operations, mentoring team members, ensuring compliance with company standards, and helping deliver the highest level of care to the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely submission of timesheets and other payroll documentation
  • Lead, guide, and assist in training lower-level personnel and/or students as assigned
  • Deliver competent patient care in pre-hospital and inter-facility settings within the scope of practice
  • Assist with hiring by utilizing Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to screen and select potential candidates
  • Ensure adherence to field policies and processes, timely completion of required paperwork, and proper use of systems
  • Maintain professional interactions with healthcare personnel and patients, including those with disabilities or injuries
  • Accurately document required information in EMS charts, including PCRs, vehicle inspections, and inventory checks
  • Ensure cleanliness of equipment and replace used or damaged supplies
  • Adhere to company and local agency policies, procedures, and protocols for emergency treatment and transportation
  • Attend refresher programs and continuing education sessions as required by the medical director
  • Maintain a professional, courteous, ethical demeanor, collaborate effectively within a team environment
  • Maintains knowledge of, implements, and enforces departmental policies, procedures, and protocol
  • Safely operate and maintain emergency vehicles in compliance with relevant laws during patient transportation
  • Provide Lift Assist and demand truck deployment as needed

Qualifications

  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Current state Paramedic certification/licensure, or National Registry (NREMT) certification with the ability to obtain state reciprocity prior to the start date.
  • Ability to remain calm, exercise sound judgment, and perform effectively in high-pressure and emergency situations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients, coworkers, leadership, and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety regulations, operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and written or verbal reports.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to promote teamwork and accountability.

Physical Demands

  • Must be physically capable of operating various vehicles and equipment essential to the job duties of an EMS provider.
  • Ability to push and pull objects exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit, ride, or drive in an ambulance for extended periods while maintaining attention and responsiveness.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in fast-paced and unpredictable environments, including emergency situations.
  • Must be able to effectively manage the physical and emotional demands associated with providing patient care and emergency response services.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and move patients and equipment in a variety of environments.
