We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our busy plastic surgery center. This role is central to ensuring safe, high-quality patient care throughout the surgical journey—from pre-operative assessments through post-operative recovery. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong clinical judgment, and provide exceptional support to patients, families, and the care team.

  • Perform pre-operative assessments, assist with history and physical examinations, and provide post-operative follow-up visits. Provide treatment, education, and ongoing management to support positive surgical outcomes.

  • Ensure timely review and sign-off of labs, diagnostic tests, medical clearances, and prescriptions in collaboration with the surgeon and in accordance with clinical guidelines.
  • Coordinate laboratory and diagnostic testing with surgeons and anesthesia providers as needed.
  • Mentor, guide, and support clinical team members, promoting a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Oversee post-surgical recovery, including wound care, dressing changes, and removal of drains and sutures. Identify complications promptly and coordinate appropriate treatments with the surgeon.
  • Conduct post-operative phone assessments to monitor recovery progress, address patient concerns, and provide clinical guidance. Respond to patient and caregiver calls with accurate and timely advice within scope of practice.
  • Offer both physical and emotional support to patients, families, and caregivers throughout the surgical process.
  • Deliver clear patient education on pre- and post-operative care, recovery expectations, and ongoing health maintenance.
  • Accurately document all patient encounters using EHR system in compliance with legal and clinical standards.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant clinical environment by adhering to protocols, procedures, and regulations.
  • Triage emergent situations, provide immediate interventions, and escalate to the surgeon when necessary to ensure patient safety.
  • Provide calm, efficient, and effective care during emergencies, including use of emergency equipment and medications.
  • Contribute to staff meetings, problem-solving discussions, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Engage in continuing education and professional development to stay current with innovations in plastic surgery and medical care. Maintain all required licensure and certifications.

  • Nursing degree from an accredited Registered Nurse program.
  • Active California RN license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, pre-op requirements, and post-operative care.
  • Familiarity with established concepts, practices, and procedures in surgical and outpatient care.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, particularly in managing complications and emergent situations.
  • Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
  • Professional demeanor with a focus on compassionate, patient-centered care.
