Clinical Nurse Manager – Behavioral Health Unit (BHU)

Donalsonville Hospital is seeking an experienced and dependable Clinical Nurse Manager to provide clinical and operational leadership for our Behavioral Health Unit during the night shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs/LVNs, and nursing assistants.
  • Assign patient-care responsibilities based on patient acuity, staffing needs, and employee skills.
  • Monitor patient care to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with hospital policies.
  • Coordinate admissions, transfers, discharges, and overall patient flow.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, members of the interdisciplinary team, patients, and families.
  • Respond to emergencies and assist staff with complex patient-care situations.
  • Address staffing needs, including schedule adjustments and break coverage.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with regulatory standards.
  • Address patient and family concerns and assist with conflict resolution when appropriate.
  • Lead shift-handoff reports and promote continuity of care.
  • Mentor and support new employees and nursing students.
  • Promote infection prevention, patient safety, and quality-improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor unit supplies and equipment and report maintenance or replacement needs.
  • Serve as the clinical and operational leader of the unit throughout the assigned shift.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Georgia.
  • Previous nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience strongly preferred.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Strong clinical judgment, leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.
  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
