Oral Surgery RN - NO NIGHTS / NO WEEKENDS

• Educate patients and caregivers regarding procedures, recovery expectations, post-operative care, and discharge instructions

• Establish and maintain IV access and administer medications and IV sedation as directed by the oral surgeon and in accordance with all applicable regulations

• Continuously monitor patient vital signs, oxygen saturation, cardiac rhythm, airway status, and level of consciousness before, during, and after procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort

• Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition, cardiac rhythms, or medical emergencies, including assisting with airway management, CPR, and emergency interventions when necessary

• Maintain accurate anesthesia records, medication documentation, nursing notes, and discharge instructions

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, anesthesia safety standards, and controlled substance regulations

• Prepare, inspect, maintain, and restock emergency medications, crash carts, anesthesia equipment, and clinical supplies; monitor medication inventory, expiration dates, and disposal documentation

• Collaborate closely with surgeons, surgical assistants, and administrative staff to support efficient patient flow and high-quality patient care

• Participate in staff meetings, ongoing education, training, and orientation programs

• Perform additional clinical duties as assigned by physicians or management

QualificationsEducation & Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing required

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Certifications & Skills

• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required, or willingness to obtain and maintain certifications upon hire

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with adult patients required

• Proficiency in IV insertion and phlebotomy required

• Strong cardiac rhythm recognition, clinical assessment, and critical thinking skills

• Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergency situations

• Excellent communication, patient care, and organizational skills

• Flexible, team-oriented mindset with willingness to support team needs

• Previous experience in sedation, PACU, ICU, ER, ambulatory surgery, or oral surgery preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday and during surgical procedures

• Frequent bending, reaching, and movement within the clinical environment

• Ability to assist with patient positioning, transport, and movement of equipment, with assistance when appropriate

• Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
