The Outpatient Mental Health (MH) Registered Nurse supports staff in providing a full range of nursing care to clients with complex care needs in an outpatient mental health setting. Duties include attending and participating in MH interdisciplinary team huddles and meetings, using therapeutic communication techniques and de-escalation techniques, providing Veterans and family members with education regarding illness, medications, and treatment plans, participating in warm hand-off and care coordination, responding to psychiatric and medical emergencies, documenting nursing triage assessments and patient plan of care, and maintaining professional boundaries.

  • RN License
  • 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
  • Background check
  • Pass drug screening
  • Pre-employment physical examination
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Master's degree in nursing
  • 1 year of experience
