About this role
The APRN is under the direction of the supervising Physician Medical Staff member. The APRN may practice only as prescribed in their job description, and as defined in the SGMC Health credentialing process. The APRN may perform advanced nursing functions and certain medical acts which include, but are not limited to, ordering drugs, treatments and diagnostic studies such as provided in O. C. G. A 43-34-26.1 and Chapter 41-0-13. The APRN may perform those tasks which they are qualified to perform, for which the sponsoring physician has privileges, and for which protocols signed by the supervising physicians exist.
The APRN participates in the QA and PI process and provides education and consultation services in area of expertise.
