Essential Duties and Responsibilities Interview patients to determine medical conditions and document findings in charts for physicians Obtain and record vital signs and weight Assist physicians during patient examinations Review physician orders, lab requests, and follow-up care with patients Document services for billing and medical records Provide basic patient care including wound dressing, enemas, douches, alcohol rubs, and massages Apply compresses, ice packs, and heat treatments Monitor patients and report adverse reactions to medications or treatments Administer medications orally, subcutaneously, or intramuscularly and document accordingly Assemble and use medical equipment such as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, and oxygen supplies Collect patient samples (urine, blood, sputum) and perform routine lab tests Physical Demands Frequent physical activity, including lifting and transferring patients Prolonged standing and walking Strong communication and listening skills Manual dexterity for equipment use and documentation Visual acuity for patient assessment and record review Qualifications
Education
Associate's Degree in Nursing
Experience
- 1-2 years of related experience preferred
- License: Active, unencumbered LPN license in the State of Louisiana
