RN for Inpatient Pediatric Unit - Indian Health Services (IHS)

• Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
• Medication administration and IV therapy management
• Monitoring and responding to changes in patient condition
• Pediatric and adult medical-surgical patient support (including high-acuity cases)
• Participation in emergency response
• Collaboration with providers and interdisciplinary care teams
• Accurate and timely clinical documentation in electronic systems
• Ensuring patient safety, infection control, and compliance with hospital protocols

*Work Schedule*

• 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
• Rotating schedule (typically 3 shifts one week, 4 shifts the next)
• Includes weekends and holidays as part of a 24/7 inpatient hospital environment

*Required Qualifications*

• Active, *unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license* in any U. S. state or territory
• Minimum *2 years of pediatric nursing experience*, including medical-surgical or inpatient hospital experience
• Current *Basic Life Support (BLS) certification* (required)
• Current *Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)* certification
• Current *Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)* certification
• Current *Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)* certification
• Ability to pass required federal background investigation
• Strong clinical judgment in acute care settings
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

• Ability to comply with HIPAA, federal healthcare regulations, and facility protocols
• Willingness to float to other inpatient units as needed based on patient care needs

*Preferred Experience*

• Previous experience in inpatient pediatric or medical-surgical units
• Experience in rural, critical access, or government healthcare settings
• Familiarity with high-acuity monitoring, IV therapy, and pediatric respiratory care
• Prior experience with IHS preferred, but not required
