About this role
Provides a focused cephalocaudal assessment, health status and pre-treatment lab review prior to patients receiving chemotherapy/immunotherapy & supportive treatments, central line care, therapeutic phlebotomies, and bladder instillations; confirming patient consent prior to treatment; educating patient on the possible side effects during and after treatment; administering treatments as ordered while assessing for and responding to adverse reactions from these treatments. The goal of infusion nurses is to provide safe care during the administration of high-risk hazardous drugs while utilizing acute assessment and critical thinking skills to prevent severe hypersensitivity or infusion related reactions to avoid hospitalizations or emergency department visits.

Requirements
- Current license with the appropriate State Board of Nursing
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or ability to become certified within 3 months from date of hire
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy provider card to be obtained within 6 months of hire and maintained thereafter
