Overview

Sentara CarePlex Hospital located in Hampton, VA is hiring a RN Diabetes Care and Education Specialist for the Diabetes Outpatient Education.

The RN Diabetes Care and Education Specialist serves as an expert clinical resource for clinical staff and healthcare providers in the inpatient and outpatient settings to include support groups. The RN Diabetes Educator plans and coordinates care and education for patients with diabetes across a continuum in collaboration with other disciplines, community agencies and Sentara Healthcare subsidiaries. The RN Diabetes Educator provides patient, family, and staff education to promote wellness and prevention of complications associated with diabetes.

Education - Required

  • RN-Bachelor's Degree OR - Required
  • RN-Master's Degree OR
  • RN-Doctorate Degree

Certification/Licensure

  • Registered Nurse (RN) License - Compact/Multi-State License OR
  • Registered Nurse (RN) License - Single State – Virginia
  • Certification Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) required

Experience

2 years of Diabetes experience (Required) Demonstrates expert clinical skills in diabetes management, diabetes education and care.
