Position Summary
The Nursing Director reports to the hospital's VP of Nursing and has 24-hour responsibility for patient care within the hospital. The Director is responsible for supporting and modeling a professional culture focused on quality, patient safety, employee engagement, fiscal responsibility, and patient experience and is clinically, administratively, and fiscally accountable for assigned patient care areas. The Director assures that the mission, vision, and values, of the health system are consistently implemented within his/her scope of responsibility.
The Director facilitates the delivery of care by setting professional standards in an open, creative, accountable, non-threatening and supportive environment. This includes empowerment of staff, providing resources, and commitment to trust and respect for all.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field is required Master's degree in Nursing or related field is preferred
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience including nursing experience related to area of specialty is required
Licensure/Certifications
RN: Registered Nurse (RN) by the Oregon State Board of Nursing required upon start Certified Nurse Manager and Leader Certification (CNML) from the American Organization for Nursing Leadership; preferred TNCC: Trauma Nurse Core Course; preferred Total Rewards
