*Responsibilities*
- Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), including those with complex medical conditions such as trauma, cardiac issues, infectious diseases, and respiratory failure.
- Monitor patient vital signs, interpret diagnostic tests, and perform thorough assessments to inform treatment plans.
- Administer medications, including IV infusions and sedation, following strict aseptic techniques and hospital protocols.
- Manage airway support with ventilators and assist with advanced procedures such as catheterizations, suturing, and tube feeding.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with patient needs and hospital standards.
- Document all patient interactions accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Respond swiftly to emergencies such as acute pain episodes or trauma incidents, demonstrating proficiency in airway management and life support techniques like Basic Life Support (BLS).

*Qualifications*
- Minimum 2 years ICU experience required.
- NYS license, BLS, ACLS and PALS required.
- Float to MS as needed.
- Travel experience required; minimum 1 year and preferably showing renewals.
- Facility has the right to cancel up to 5 shifts at no cost during the duration of the 13-week assignment.
- Proven ICU experience within a Level I or Level II trauma center or similar acute care environment.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and diagnostic evaluation procedures.
- Experience working with critically ill patients requiring complex interventions such as ventilator management, dialysis, or infectious disease care.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
- Ability to perform high-quality patient assessments, vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and aseptic technique adherence.
