American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 1-2 years of L&D experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in a Women's and Infants Labor and Delivery unit with 19 rooms
  • Rotating day (7:00-19:00) and night (19:00-7:00) 3x
  • 12 hour shifts across various days of the week
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Weekend shifts required per unit needs
  • On-call requirements per unit needs
  • Float required within the Women and Infant unit and potentially within the metro region per facility needs

Requirements

  • Active RN license, CO or compact required
  • Current

certifications

BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced and Beginner preferred)

  • Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
  • 2 years of overall RN experience required
  • Previous travel experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, administration of blood and blood products, drawing venous blood, maintaining central lines, starting and maintaining IVs, and use of infusion pumps
  • Experience with labor and delivery management including amnioinfusion, assisting with vaginal delivery, circulating for C-section, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock response
  • Experience with antepartum care including fetal monitoring, NST, OCT, and triage of obstetrical patients
  • Experience with postpartum care including foley catheter management, fundus/lochia/perineum care, and wound assessment
  • Experience with neonatal care in delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
  • Navy scrub color required

Additional Information

  • Unit is able to accommodate multiple travel contracts due to its size
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
  • Candidates previously employed by UCHealth or its affiliates within the last two years will not be considered
  • Return travelers who completed a full year on assignment must wait at least one year before rebooking
  • Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with RTO restricted during specified blackout periods
  • No blocked scheduling requests allowed
  • Completion of all facility-specific modules required within the first week of assignment
  • Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility may be considered
  • Responsibilities include assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, scrubbing and recovering C-sections, and providing newborn care and discharge teaching to parents
