Job Summary

The Clinic RN is a vital member of the oncology care team, responsible for providing compassionate, patient-centered nursing care while coordinating clinical services and supporting physicians in delivering exceptional cancer treatment. This role serves as a patient advocate, educator, and clinical resource, ensuring patients and their families receive the guidance, support, and high-quality care needed throughout their cancer journey.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Coordinates patient care activities to ensure a seamless and positive patient experience throughout the continuum of care. Conducts comprehensive nursing assessments, evaluating both the physical and emotional needs of patients and facilitating appropriate interventions and follow-up care. Collaborates closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Educates patients and family members regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, symptom management, medications, and available resources. Serves as a patient advocate by helping patients navigate care, addressing concerns, and promoting informed decision-making. Coordinates documentation and clinical information necessary for insurance authorizations, scheduling, billing, and continuity of care.

Assists in managing clinic flow and physician schedules to support efficient operations and exceptional patient service. Provides leadership and guidance to assigned clinical support staff while fostering a collaborative team environment. Maintains compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based nursing practices.

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse license issued by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners. One to three years of oncology nursing experience preferred. Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) is a plus, not required. Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making abilities. Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills. Demonstrated commitment to compassionate, patient-focused care.
