What this might mean for you

University of Virginia is an academic medical center — teaching floors, residents in the halls, and more sub-specialties to grow into. The posted pay pencils out to roughly $75k–$82k a year. It's a night shift — quieter halls, a tighter crew, and your daylight hours back.

Worth asking

  • Can you walk me through the base pay range and differentials?
  • Can you confirm how many hours and shifts are expected each week and what the weekend, holiday, call, and rotation requirements are?
  • What orientation, preceptor time, and ongoing unit support are included?
  • How are patient load, floating, and staffing support handled day to day?

The posting doesn’t answer these. Good ones to ask a recruiter or in the interview.
