This 8-week, full-time program is designed to increase students' clinical skills, judgment and critical thinking. One to one mentor relationships with a registered nurse will help build confidence in the science and art of nursing. The Nurse Technician position is a role for nursing students, designed to increase their clinical skills, judgment and critical thinking while enrolled in a nursing program.

One to one mentor relationships with a registered nurse will help build confidence in the science and art of nursing. Nursing students working as Nurse Technicians will be able to connect with Virginia Mason Medical Center, a premier healthcare organization, to assess feasibility of employment post-graduation and will have an opportunity to work alongside members of the healthcare team and move into a Registered Nurse position after graduation. The Nurse Technician provides direct patient care under the supervision of an RN, assists patients with activities of daily living, changes dressings, performs urinary catheterization and other treatments and procedures in accordance with formal training received through their nursing degree program.
