About this role
The registered nurse plans, organizes and directs hospice care and is experienced in nursing, with emphasis on community health education/experience. The professional nurse builds from the resources of the community to plan and direct services to meet the needs of individual and families within their homes and communities. Completes initial, comprehensive and ongoing assessment of patient and family to determine hospice needs. Provides professional nursing care, develops care plans, administers medications and treatments, counsels patients and families, acts as Case Manager when assigned, and participates in interdisciplinary group meetings.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- RN License in good standing
- Minimum 1 year experience as a professional nurse within the last 3 years; OR baccalaureate degree in nursing with minimum 2 years experience (preferred)
- CPR Certification (hands-on demonstration required)
- BLS Certification
- Driver's License with insured automobile in good working order
- Criminal background check
- Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills
