About this role

The Nurse Manager is responsible for providing a framework for planning, directing, coordinating, providing and improving interdisciplinary care, treatment and services to long-term acute care patients who range from adolescents to geriatric adults experiencing medically complex conditions, physical/pulmonary rehabilitation and wound care needs. The Nurse Manager will assume overall responsibilities for planning, coordinating and managing the Nursing Department and establishing the policies, procedures and the standards of nursing practice. Assesses and plans for effective patient flow process by evaluating the available supply of patient bed space, efficiency/safety of patient care, treatment, and support services that impact patient flow.

Serves as Nurse Executive: providing an adequate number of competent staff; orientation, training and education of staff; assessing, maintaining and improving staff competence/ hands on understanding. Responsible for employee growth and development, recruitment and retention, and reward/recognition programs.
