Registered Nurse (RN) - CVOR - Riley Children's Hospital + Relo

*Duties*

• Deliver comprehensive preoperative assessments and prepare patients for cardiac and vascular procedures with meticulous attention to detail.
• Administer medications, including complex anesthesia-related drugs, and monitor patient responses throughout surgical interventions.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure adherence to aseptic protocols during all surgical procedures to prevent infection.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other perioperative team members to coordinate seamless surgical care.
• Utilize advanced electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic and Cerner for accurate documentation of patient care activities.
• Monitor vital signs, manage airway devices, and respond swiftly to intraoperative emergencies using critical care response procedures.
• Assist with specialized procedures including cardiac catheterization, tube feeding management, and suturing during surgeries.
• Support post-operative recovery by providing detailed handoffs, pain management, and patient education tailored to individual needs.

*Skills*

• Extensive experience working within a Level I Trauma Center or equivalent high-acuity surgical environment.
• Proficiency with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient medical documentation.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to cardiovascular surgery.
• Skilled in aseptic techniques, IV infusion management, catheterization procedures, and ventilator support.
• Critical care experience with acute pain management, trauma medicine, or ICU settings is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with advanced cardiac procedures including cardiac catheterization and ICD coding practices.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams while maintaining focus on patient safety and quality standards.
