RN Specialist – Medical Emergency Team

Medical Emergency Team (MET) RN Specialists develop, implement and evaluate processes and systems for providing a proactive approach to nursing care and patient management to improve patient outcomes, reduce non-ICU medical emergencies and decrease ICU transfers. This approach includes proactive rounding on inpatient units, obtaining input from bedside RNs to identify acute patient issues, communicating acute changes to providers, providing emergency response to patients, supporting the critical response and resuscitation committee, leading implementation of process improvements, and supporting education training for clinical caregivers.
