Position Summary
The *LPN Floor Nurse* provides direct nursing care to assigned residents and coordinates the day-to-day care provided by Certified Nursing Assistants. The LPN works closely with the nursing leadership team, CNAs, residents, families, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, compassionate, resident-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and timely in accordance with physician orders and facility policy
- Complete required nursing documentation and maintain accurate resident records
- Assess and monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly communicate significant findings
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care
- Supervise and direct Certified Nursing Assistants assigned to the unit
- Make appropriate CNA assignments and help ensure resident care needs are completed
- Communicate effectively with physicians, residents, families, CNAs, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
- Respond professionally and timely to resident and family questions or concerns
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers as needed
- Implement and follow established nursing policies, procedures, care plans, and physician orders
- Assist the Director of Nursing and nursing leadership with follow-through on resident care needs
- Participate in facility surveys and assist with required follow-up as appropriate
- Maintain a professional, approachable, and caring demeanor with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers
- Promote teamwork and help maintain a positive environment for residents and staff
Qualifications
*Required:*
- Graduate of an accredited/approved Practical Nursing program
- Current and unrestricted *Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)* license in the State of Georgia
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, coworkers, and healthcare providers
- Ability to supervise and provide direction to Certified Nursing Assistants
*Preferred:*
- Previous bedside nursing experience
- Previous skilled nursing or long-term care experience
