Summary

An Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care in a clinical setting, addressing physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to assessments, care planning, implementation, and evaluation within scope of practice and unit standards. Administer treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies following policies and procedures. Reinforce patient and family education, discharge planning, and support throughout hospitalization. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to meet patient needs. Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and modify plans accordingly. Mentor new staff and students, participate in unit-based decision-making, and provide input for performance reviews. Promote safety, patient satisfaction, and compassionate care, coordinating staff interactions.

Qualifications & Skills

Graduate of Specialty Training Program in Nursing (required); Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred). Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical assessment skills are essential. Ability to work under a Temporary Practice Permit until passing NCLEX is required.
