Hennepin Healthcare is an integrated system of care that includes HCMC, a nationally recognized Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and acute care hospital, as well as a clinic system with primary care clinics located in Minneapolis and across Hennepin County. The comprehensive healthcare system includes a 473-bed academic medical center, a large outpatient Clinic & Specialty Center, and a network of clinics in the North Loop, Whittier, and East Lake Street neighborhoods of Minneapolis, and in the suburban communities of Brooklyn Park, Golden Valley, Richfield, and St. Anthony Village. Hennepin Healthcare has a large psychiatric program, home care, and operates a research institute, philanthropic foundation, and Hennepin EMS. The system is operated by Hennepin Healthcare System, Inc., a subsidiary corporation of Hennepin County. JOB DETAILS Department: OB GYN FTE: 0.8 (64 hours per pay period) Number of shifts per pay period : 8 Shift(s): Days Weekend rotation: N/a Shift Length: 8 hours Call: N/a RESPONSIBILITIES: Within the context of the Hennepin Healthcare System Relationship-Based Care practice model, and under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by: • Protecting, promoting wellness and optimizing health • Triaging patients by assessing severity of symptoms and referral to appropriate setting or level of care • Alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human response • Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others • Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care • Educating patient on their disease process • Assuring continuity of care • Educating patient and family in preventative care which promotes health and well being QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing • Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota Preferred Qualifications: • Certification in area of clinical specialty • Previous OB/Gyn or L&D experience • BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
